On March 29-31 2010, my 12 year old son and I hunted Rio Grand turkeys at the West Kerr Ranch. What a great experience we had! Ashley and her family have done a great job with their land and wildlife management. I harvested a bird with a 10 ¼” beard on the second morning of the hunt, and my son took a 9 ¾” bird on the third morning. During the hunt, we had sightings of many exotics. However, this is far from being a “canned” hunt. The animals are all fair chase and very wary. If you like to hunt animals with a challenge, and have the opportunity to see mulitiple species in one place, then the West Kerr is for you.
The accommodations are more than adequate. A nice bunkhouse and lodge are clean and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the ranch off of the back porch.
I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our trip. We were treated very nicely and Ashley made us feel like friends, something you don’t find much these days. We hope to return soon, maybe to try something new next time. Although, there were plenty of Rio ’s still gobbling when we left.

David & I had a great hunt for Spring Turkey on your ranch. You have a very nice place and you run a good operation. Thanks for everything. I was very pleased to take 2 nice toms and David enjoyed himself in spite of not killing a bird. That's just part of hunting and he knows it. Didn't detract from the hunt for him.
I'm already looking forward to coming back in October for the whitetail doe / hog hunt.
Thank you again,
Brian A.

Hello Ashley...I just wanted to drop you a note to express how we enjoyed our experience at the West Kerr Ranch. Dustin was a pleasure to be around. He is an astute young man that was a lot of fun. He worked very hard to get Katy a turkey ,but it wasn't in the cards. She did experience the rush the last morning when the gobbler got close but it just wouldn't make that final mistake. She saw a lot of animals she had never seen, with the big porcupine being a highlight. Your Ranch and facilities are very nice and the ranch is really pretty. We enjoyed our experience and it is not hard to see why the West Kerr recieves such accolades. Your family should be proud. Thanks again for all of your patience with my various inquiries
With regards,
John Nicklebur

Hey Ashley & Kelcie,
We had a great hunt this past weekend and lots of fun. Thank you and Kelcie for everything. It was great to meet Kelcie and she did a wonderful job in helping us get some nice rams. The facilities and the ranch were better than we had imagined. We talked to Kelcie about returning next year around the same time and having her bait some Aoudad for us so we can get one with our bows. We cant wait till next year.
Thanks again and we look forward to the return trip next year.

Ashley and Kelcie,
Just wanted to thank you again for another great time at the ranch. As usual your hunting knowledge and hospitality were outstanding. It was well worth the 600 mile drive each way. I know I'll be back next year.
Thank you again,

Dear Kelcie and Ashley,
Thanks again for a great hunt. I'm really happy that I was able to get my dad to hunt. Originally, the hunt was for me, but once I was able to convince my dad to hunt, I wanted him to take a buck. Kelcie, thanks for being there with my dad, and letting me give him my buck to shoot. By the way, is he the oldest first time hunter you've had at 75 years of age? Look forward to getting that Euro mount. Take care and have a great season.
Good Hunting,
Garrett

To the Whole West Kerr Ranch Crew:
A week ago I was hunting there on your ranch with my 2 brothers-in-law, Larry and Dennis Brock. I had not had the chance to go hunting in quite a long time. The last time I was able to go hunting was when my #2 son (now a 20 year old Marine) was picked for a youth hunt with the TYHP. At that time I really enjoyed just being there and letting him do all the shooting.
The experience of last week was a very welcome opportunity to help me remember why I love the outdoors, even if it means freezing my tail off in 30 degree weather with a 20 MPH wind. Each of us was able to harvest 2 deer, which is what we went there to accomplish. This was of course due partly to the incredible management practices there that specifically benefit the wildlife. Secondly, I do not dare forget the fact that Kelcie made everything happen. Whether we were driving to the blind or heading back to the bunkhouse, she was constantly alert and aware of every animal that so much as twitched an ear. She seemed to be so in tune with the animals that I could swear she knew every single one of them by name (if such is possible). I truly appreciate her attention to detail and the interest she displayed in seeing to it that we had an enjoyable and successful hunt.
I have 2 sons in the military: one currently in Baghdad and the other in Okinawa. The eldest (the one in Iraq) will be cycling back to the states in February. After returning he will resume a combat and sniper instructor position at Ft Knox, KY for the next 3 years. As he will finally be in the states after a lengthy sojourn abroad, I hope he will have time to go hunting with his old man (not too old, mind you!) next hunting season. If that proves to be the case, I will be giving you a call to set something up. As my work and family scheduling does not make it feasible to maintain a membership on a regular yearly deer lease, hunting packages make much more sense. You have earned a return customer for as long as you'll put up with me.
When I was last able to do any hunting, it was about 20 years ago when my father lived in Harper. The nostalgia and chance to reminisce as I return to that part of the country is just an added bonus. Again, I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the hunt and how much I personally appreciated everyone's hard work, especially Kelcie's.

We made it home last night to a -5 DEGREES and all I could think about was shooting my first Texas white tail buck with a big smile of that warm morning. I want to thank all of you for making my hunt a very pleasant and memorable adventure. Bob and I spent hours just talking and looking at our photos over and over again. We saw so many different varieties of bucks and exotics we will be back for more memories.

Ashley,
What another great hunt it was this year for us at the West Kerr Ranch. Having the ranch to ourselves the entire time was awesome. You stepped up to the plate yourselve by cooking some really enjoying food. Having Gary as our guide of course made the trip pretty much picture perfect. All of you at the West Kerr Ranch go the extra mile in what you do, I have to say that your accomadations, food, and hunting ranch is some of the best I have ever been around. We are looking forward in coming out next year for the 3rd straight year. I will mail you some pictures of our hunt and the game we got.
Thank you again Ashley for giving us the opportunity on hunting your ranch.

Hey Kelcie and Ashley,
Thanks for your hospitality - we had a great time! I've attached a couple fo photos of our hunt. Beautiful buck - not wild about Connor's shoes though, but I guess that's a kid for you.
Hope to get out there again!

Ashley & Kelcie
I wanted to take some time to thank you for putting forth the efforts to insure our hunt was a success. I recently booked an Axis hunt for a client and myself for June of 2008. After arriving at your ranch we quickly realized the hunting conditions were not favorable. The grass was green and the wind was blowing no less than 20 MPH minimum day and night and extremely hot. Fortunately I was lucky enough to take a 33” Axis on the second evening hunt and know all efforts were focused on my client’s hunt. It came down to the last hunt and my client had not taken his Axis buck yet. He had pasted on several 28” Axis because he was looking for something larger. At this point I really needed for my client to shoot something because I didn’t want to return to work and have to explain how I shoot a really nice buck and my client didn’t. Well, at the last minutes of the last hunt Kelcie and my client pulled it out. He took a 34” Axis that had it all. If it were not for your efforts and great attitudes our hunts may have turned out differently.
Thanks again for the attention and hospitality,
Mike Grein

Ashley, Kelcie, Karen and Rex,
I wanted to thank all of you for your hospitality and hard work putting us on the animals during our recent hunt (May 31st thru June 3rd) sponsored by Smith Technologies which Ryan Blair was wholly responsible for. We really enjoyed visiting WKR and were impressed with all of the animals we saw and with the beauty of the ranch itself. Unfortunately the high wind wasn't conducive to accessing the BIG Axis and kept them in the brush, however, I have received many congratulatory comments on the 28" Axis buck I killed.
I had really hoped my son, Jake, would have bagged his trophy, but despite Miss Kelcie's unyielding efforts, it simply wasn't to be. I think she was more aggravated about the wind than Jake and worked hard to put him on an animal. Finally, the last morning we hunted he did get a shot at an Aoudad ram, but missed. That's why they call it hunting instead of killing. It was truly a "fair chase" hunt. I have hunted other "high fence" ranches that were nothing to brag about. The term shooting fish in a barrel comes to mind.
While driving home, Jake and I were talking and, out of the blue, he told me "Dad, that was a good hunt". For him to say that without taking his trophy spoke volumes to me about his experience at WKR. We plan to come back during Whitetail season! Thanks again, Gary Ferguson
P.S. Rex, you're a WILDMAN, thanks a heap!

Hello Ashley,
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed my recent axis hunt! As you know, I passed up serveral nice bucks, (including the beautiful buck that you, and, I, saw which was nearly standing in the front yard of the Needham house), looking for something bigger. And, when I saw the one I was looking for, I blew the stalk on that big old buck, and, never got a shot at him. In short, the fact that I didn't score, was no one's fault but mine!
Nevertheless, I had a great time! During my hunt, I saw 4-big aoudad rams, one of which was awesome! I saw serveral beautiful blackbuck.
I saw a lot of fallow bucks, (in all color phases), and, sika bucks, many of which will be fine trophies this fall. In addition, I saw flocks of turkeys, and, plenty of wild hogs.
I saw so many whitetail bucks I lost count! Judging by the antler growth on a lot of the bucks I saw, it looks like it will be another great year for trophy whitetails, just like last season. In the different pastures I hunted, I saw a number of bucks with main beams already well past their ears, and, multiple points. A lot of these old boys will be real "wall-hangers" when deer season opens.
In closing, I want to thank you for another great hunt, and, memorable outdoor experience! As always, you gave "200%," and, went "the extra mile," to help me have a successful, and, enjoyable hunt. I sincerely appreciate your efforts on my behalf! You are the best!!
Take care, and, I'm looking forward to my next hunt!

Ashley,
Here is a report on Charlie's birthday hunt. Rex was great and took our kidding around in stride, although after we ate chili dogs for supper Friday night I don't think his truck will ever have that "new car" smell again. We passed on a small Sika the first afternoon, but saw some good whitetail bucks at the feeder. Charlie was asleep in the blind on Saturday morning when 5 Sika came in to feed. I woke him up and had to tell him 3 times that I wasn't joking, but after he looked through the binoculars the adrenaline finally kicked in and he was wide awake in a heartbeat. The chair was too low so I let him sit in my lap to take the shot. He picked the one he wanted and told me to be still 'cause I was shaking him. I got more excited than he did, but managed to be still long enough for him to make a perfect shoulder shot at 120 yards. I confirmed the hit and told him the deer was down right there. Then he asked me if it was OK to holler. I let the deer quit kicking and told him to holler all he wanted to. Maybe I should have let him exit the blind first because my ears are still ringing from him whooping it up. We really enjoyed ourselves and hope to come back again.
Thanks,
Richard & Charlie Gainey

Hello to both of you in Texas.
I hope that everthing is going great for the two of you. Just wanted to drop a line and say thanks again for a fantastic trip. We really had a blast!! Thanks to your crew, and to you for getting us in the action. We had an all day de-bone and grinder party when we got home. Some good picures attatched.
Please feel free to use any pictures or myself as reference for your future hunters. I would be glad to talk to them and let them know how much we enjoyed our time with you. I do regret not being able to come back this year, I must go to mexico in November with my wife and in-laws.(yeah, if I can't hunt I might as well fish!) I'm sure your both are really sad for me, right? Anyways we'll shoot for 09'. Here is my contact info. Kelcie get ahold of me for my taxidermy work and we'll get you paid up and take care of shipping.

Ashley and Kelcie,
Thanks for the great hunts. Although we didn't get what we were after we all feel that you both did a good job at trying to get us on the animals. You were honest upfront with what kind of expectations we should have about the hunts and that is appreciated. The choice to have meals prepared by Karen was a home run that we all enjoyed very much.
Thanks again for a great time and we'll probably contact you in the future for another try.

Hello Lady's
We just had to take the time to write all of you. The management buck hunt we did in mid December was great! We didn't really know what to expect, we had never been on a guided hunt before but you guys made us feel right at home. Both my son Chase (14) and my wife Kathy are new hunters and it was a great experience for them. Chase harvested a cool 8 point acorn buck and a nice sika buck. Kathy was excited about her really tall 7 point and a good looking sika. I did a doe hunt the first few hunts and had a great time. One of the highlights of my trip was hunting with my son and getting his sika hunt and harvest on video. Wow what a trip.I will send some photos also. The food was great Karen, and Chase enjoyed hunting with Gary. We are looking forward to our next hunt with you guys and can't wait to get there.
Thanks

I just wanted to say thanks again for everything. As always the hunt and the hospitality was wonderful. Not sure when I will get to make it back up, but hopefully sometime around August/September. I would very much like to thank you for the oppurtunity for the stalk hunt. Although it did not go quite as planned it was awesome. I am looking forward to doing another stalk hunt again sometime. I hope you have a great new year. Keep in touch.
Thanks

Ashley,
It is always a joy coming to the WKR to enjoy the great hunting, super staff, lots of laughs and the good times that makes the West Kerr Ranch one of our premier hunting destinations. Having hunted at the WKR over the last 6 years for various big game animals we always come away a little more enriched from the experience. I have to especially take the time to thank you for helping my son James on his hunts. Your kindness towards him will always be appreciated and I am eternally grateful for all you have done for him over the years. You truly have a gift making the hunts fun and successful for all the kids you guide. Well until our next adventure at the WKR many thanks for the great hunts and wonderful memories which make you and the ranch special to us.
P.S. I forgot to mention I really like Karen's down home cooking. (great food)
Kindest regards,
Jon C. Nogarede

Hey Girls,
I bet you all have had a terrific whitetail season.
Judging by the ones I saw in June, I'm sure your hunters have taken some "serious" trophy bucks!
After making it three years in a row, and, taking some great bucks, I really miss my whitetail hunts at the ranch. Hopefully, 2008, or, January 2009, I may be back for another trophy West Kerr whitetail!
Ashley, you know you, and, Kelcie mean the world to me! I look forward to seeing both of you every year! I can never adequately express my gratitude, or, repay you for all the kindness that you have shown toward me! I cannot imagine a year going by "without" at least one hunt at the West Kerr. I hope you, Kelcie, and, your Mom has a wonderful Christmas! May the New Year fulfill all of your hopes, and, dreams!

Hey everyone,
For those of you that didn't know, I just returned from the hill country of Texas where we did an exotic hunt at West Kerr Ranch located in Kerrville, Texas. I was very fortunate to have the chance to take a 9 year old little girl named Jordyn that I hold very dear to me. She had the hunt of a lifetime and it was a trip she will always remember! We arrived in Houston on Wednesday where Brian & Pam (owners of SHE Safari) were there to pick us up and take us to the ranch. On Thursday morning, Jordyn got her first crack at a Sika doe at over 100 yds and she dropped her dead in her tracks! What a great shot she made for never even practicing over 60 yards! You go girl! On Thursday morning, Darby another 9 year old girl hunting with us, harvested a wild hog! She made an awesome shot as well! On Friday morning, we decided to walk and stalk where Jordyn got her shot at the nice Sika buck! Jordyn took advantage of every opportunity given to her and made it count! The other 3 kids were there to share her excitement and pose with her trophy!
I know that many of you have kids of your own, but I just wanted to tell everyone how much it meant to me to get this opportunity to take her and see the light in her eyes. She made so many new lifelong friends while she was there, she absolutely adored all of the kids that were along on the hunt and she will remember them for years to come!
A special thanks goes out to Brian & Pam of SHE Safari, Rob & Scott of Adventure Bound Outdoors & last but not least, everyone from West Kerr Ranch especially Ashley and Kelsie for such a terrific and unforgettable hunt!
Nicole Jones :)

Hello Ashley, and, Kelcie,
I want to thank both of you, once again, for the great time I had on my recent axis hunt!
Even though I didn't "pull the trigger," I had multiple opportunities to take serveral fine bucks in the 30-inch class. Having harvested three trophy axis on previous hunts at the West Kerr, I think the desire to spend a week "just hunting" your beautiful wildlife rich paradise meant more to me than taking another buck. Each day on the ranch was a new adventure, and, thanks to your superb management practices, the "quality," and, "quantity" of game seen was simply unbelievable! During my hunt, I saw 5 big aoudad rams, several nice blackbuck antelope, fallow deer in all colorations, (chocolate, spotted, and, white), sika deer, and, more whitetails than I could possibly count.
With regard to the deer, if anyone is planning a West Kerr whitetail hunt, this is the year to go! From what I observed, the constant rains have produced a tremendous amount of natural forage for all of the wildlife. With this abundance of high protein feed, antler growth on the whitetails is phenomenal! On my previous axis hunts, in the month of June, I have seen whitetails with above average antler growth for that time of year. But, I have "never" seen the bucks with such well-developed antlers as I saw last month! I saw buck-after-buck with wide spreads, (well past the ears on some), multiple points, (plenty of 8, and,10-pointers), and, overall, very symmetrical racks. I can only imagine what some of these bucks will look like in "hard" antler! In short, I think it is going to be a "banner year" for trophy whitetails at the West Kerr!
I might add that the same can be said for the fallow, and, sika deer. I saw a dozen, or, more fallow bucks that already had tremendous velvet covered antlers. And, most of the sika bucks I saw had antlers larger than I have seen before.
Since my first trip to the West Kerr serveral years ago, the two of you have always gone the "extra mile" to help make my hunts enjoyable, and, successful. I don't have words to adequately express my sincerest appreciation for your continued kindness. Thanks to both of you, this trip was another memorable outdoor experience that I will never forget!
Looking forward to the next hunt!
Best Wishes!

I'm finding it hard to describe our hunting experience over the weekend. I guess it's because there were so many "first experiences" for me that it will be forever burned into my mind. When I originally was invited I was very appreciative to Elliott and Laurent for asking me to go, but I really wasn't interested in killing something or spending Memorial Weekend with a bunch of guys from the office; how things have changed within a short period of time. Now, I would go with each one of you anytime and hunt until I'm blue in the face. Here's a few things that I will always remember about the trip: - James telling us on the way down that we needed to get gas, not knowing he really needed to have a smoke and take a s..t. - Watching everyone at the range shoot rifles and probably thinking there is no way we're going to hit a deer. - Actually see each one of us go through a psychological change when we made our first kill--almost spiritual-probably back to our primal male roots. - See Marc entertaining everyone and becoming our right hand man when it comes to spotting the different deer. - Nicknaming Ass-Sas-In and Team Hog Wild; the process to get to those nicknames was enjoyable. - How stalking deer was just as awesome as the kill. - Killing an animal, but having respect for it--Try to figure that out mentally. - Playing poker and not really grasping the concept of the small blind versus big blind. - Finding out that Scotch doesn't give me a hang over....long live scotch--down with gin and tonics. - Hanging out with Brooklyn at the ranch and in the field....a man that lives life to the fullest and loves to hunt. - Meeting people like Ashley, Brooklyn, Kelsey, Heather, Karen, Gary, Dana, Russell, & Leanne (I'm sure I'm forgetting some body)--long live the West Kerr Ranch. - How appreciative I am to Elliott and Laurent for inviting us. - Sitting in a blind with Elliott and trying to figure out what to do with a pig after Elliot shot it--"do we leave it in the mud or go get it? "Let's leave it--"they're nasty!" - Riding home with Greg and James--the way they argue, they should be married. - Taking my first shot at a beautiful deer and making the kill...knowing inside of me that it was 99% luck and 1% no skill. - Finally understanding James' passion for hunting and why he is so serious about hunting and everything associated with it. - Listening to each one of you after killing your Axis and the excitement in your voice. - Having respect for Kelsey when she came forward to tell Elliott about finding his first kill. - Already planning my next hunting trip with my boys to share the experience. - Not wanting to leave on Monday. - Bonding with a bunch of great guys that will forever be a great memory for me. Thank you to Laurent and Elliott for allowing me to have this opportunity; thank you to James for organizing the hunt with West Kerr Ranch and thanks to Marc for being into it as much as me and being a great spotter; and thanks to Greg for allowing me to sleep in the same room and becoming closer friends. Respectfully, J. B. HANNIS Team Hog Wild!

Ashley,
I just wanted to take the time to thank you and your sister for a great hunting trip. Thank you for putting all of that effort into setting up my spots for my trip. I can't believe how many gobblers I saw, and how big they were. I really appreciate the fact that you were able to put me on some different animals after I got my gobbler. You really have a great feel for the whereabouts of the animals on your ranch. The new game room you added on was great, and the accomodations are really comfortable. I have been out with a lot of fishing guides and hunting guides, but you are definitely the best. I may not always come through on my part, but you always put me on great animals. I can't wait to come back this summer.

Ashley Joe called me this morning and said what a great time they had over the weekend with you and Kelcie. He talked for 20 minutes non stop about the place, food and good company. Their talking about booking Axis hunts for this summer. You two do a great job and I've never had a reference I've sent up there come back with any negatives. Thanks to you and Kelcie for the things you do and a job well done. See you soon. Mike

Dear Ashley and Kelcie, I wanted to thank you both for providing me with such a great hunt on the West Kerr Ranch. This was truly one of the most enjoyable hunts I ever taken anywhere. The management of the game at the West Kerr is without question one of the best showcase operations I have ever seen. Although I had a management whitetail buck hunt, I was able to harvest an incredible Gold Sika buck, which Kelcie is mounting for me to enjoy for many years to come. The number of trophy animals that I saw, including whitetail, Sika, and Fallow deer, was far beyond my expectation and the accommodations were absolutely wonderful. Just being out in one of your blinds and hearing the Sika bugle was enough to make the trip worthwhile, let alone seeing Black Buck in the rut and chasing the does. The quality of your whitetail bucks is incredible. I have shot a lot of big bucks all over the U.S., but I have to admit, I have never seen so many trophies in such a short period of time. And of course, I must mention Remy the wonder dog. I shot my Sika buck late in the evening and most probably would have lost him if it had not been for the keen senses of Remy and the two of you helping me recover my buck. This was yet another memorable experience that I will long remember. As I promised, I have attached the pictures of me, the Sika buck, and Remy that Ashley took using my camera. Thanks again for such a wonderful experience, and I look forward expectantly to my next hunt at the West Kerr. So until then, happy hunting! Best Regards, Ron Hill Roseville, CA and Fort Worth, TX
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ashley, thanks again for an enjoyable trip. I really appreciate the extra effort you put into finding the black buck. I wasn't expecting to be between two of them at the same time. Also for letting us stay an extra day, the hardest part of the trip was having to leave good people & the pretty country. Looking forward to coming back. You guys do a great job. Greg should be sending you the pics of the black buck.
Thanks,
Claud Jones

My stay at the West Kerr Ranch on October 23, 24, & 25 was a very enjoyable experience. You placed me in two areas where I saw lots of deer (a total of 26) of which 14 of the deer were bucks. Two of those bucks were really nice large racked bucks. I took two white tailed does and took video pictures of all the rest. The weather was just right and the equipment & tools at the skinning poles made the deer processing very easy.
I really enjoyed having the entire place to myself Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The alone time, the great scenery, the quietness, the wonderful lodge, and everything else about the camp area made it an unforgettable experience. I really, really enjoyed everything.
Hope the regular season brings you lots of hunters so that they can experience all the hunt camp amenities and the great hunting.

Ashley,
I just want to personally thank you and Kelcie for donating the hunt, and you especially for your time in guiding her.
She had a wonderful time and, in addition to going home with a cooler full of venison, had an opportunity to get back into the woods and away from many of her concerns for a short time.
I hope the Spring turkey hunt works out for both of you.
Again, thank you,
Stanley

Hello Ashley and Kelcie,
I just received my Certificate, and, Gold Medal plaque, from the Records of Exotics, for my trophy aoudad that I got on my January deer hunt. I don't have words to adequately express my gratitude to both of you for your guidance, and, expertise, which enabled me to harvest such a magnificent ram, as well as, a fine whitetail buck! I have now been on six hunts at the West Kerr, three for trophy whitetails, and, three for exotic big game, all of which have been successful! On my previous hunts, I have harvested two trophy whitetails, a 10, and, 11-pointer, two big, beautiful axis bucks, and, a great mouflon ram. On every hunt, the quality, quantity, and, variety of wildlife that I've seen on your hunter's paradise is almost unbelievable! In addition to the fantastic hunting, the accommodations have always been first-class. Also, the other guides who I've had the pleasure to hunt with from time-to-time, like both of you, have been outstanding in every respect! Having hunted big game in a number of states, as well as, three Canadian provinces, and, based on my experiences, I can truthfully say, without reservation, that the West Kerr ranch is a "premier" hunting destination for anyone wanting that "wall-hanger" whitetail, or, trophy exotic! And, of utmost importance, you are dealing with good, honest people who will give a 200% effort to make your hunt enjoyable, and, successful! My heartfelt thanks to both of you for successful hunts, great trophies, and, most of all, a lifetime of memories! See you this spring!
Best Wishes,
Larry Elam Chattanooga, TN

Dear Ashley & Kelcie,
The two of you have an outstanding hunting operation, and I am thankful that I was able to enjoy your ranch & facilities. Thank you for trying so hard to help me harvest the trophy aoudad that I wanted, even though I did not succeed in harvest a trophy ram, I had a great time. You are both a pleasure to be around, and I look forward to returning.
See You SOON!!

Hey Ash!!
I had an awesome time at your ranch again! I felt like I got some valuable hunting experience too, and as inexperienced as I am, a little seems like a lot to me, haha. For one thing, I'll definitely make sure there are no Aoudad 20 yards away from me again next time I try to video some turkeys!
Thanks Again, Mike

Hey Ashley, and, Kelcie,
I want to tell both of you, once again, what a wonderful time I had on my axis hunt a couple of weeks ago! I am absolutely thrilled with my big, beautiful, "Gold Medal," buck!
This was my third axis hunt at the West Kerr. And, thanks to you two, I have harvested a trophy buck on each hunt. I have also been on three trophy whitetail hunts that have been equally successful.
Based on these experiences, I can truthfully say that the fantastic whitetail hunting can only be matched by the great hunting for axis deer. On this hunt, I saw 13-bucks in 3-days! In my opinion, 10 of these were trophy bucks with antlers "over" 30-inchs in length! With regard to seeing big bucks, I might add that this hunt was "not" an exception to my previous two axis hunts.
On each of those hunts, I saw a number of nice bucks as well. For those who want to hunt these beautiful, magnificent deer, and, harvest a true trophy buck, you "cannot go wrong" booking your axis hunt at the West Kerr!
Like all of my previous hunts, I saw a variety of game on this hunt as well. I saw serveral fine blackbuck antelope with excellent horns. I saw sika, and, fallow deer. I saw a group of aoudad sheep, one of which was a real good ram. In addition to the exotic game, I saw dozens of whitetails, and, serveral wild hogs. I guess 98% of the whitetails I saw were bucks with velvet covered antlers in various stages of development. I saw a number of bucks that already had main beams past their ears, and, multiple points. With a couple of more months to go before the antlers will be complete, these bucks should be real trophies when deer season opens!
I deeply appreciate all the effort that you two put forth to help me have another successful, memorable hunt! Thanks to both of you, all of my hunts at the West Kerr have been fun, enjoyable, and, in all respects, "first class" outdoor adventures! Looking forward to the next one!
Best Wishes,
Larry Elam

Dear Ashley, Kelcie, Brooklyn and Dee,
Thank you for my first buck and the great memories that I experienced at the West Kerr Ranch! Once again, your ranch lived up to my expectations. I can not say enough about your operation. You all have a great sense of humor and are a joy to be around. I was fortunate enough to limit out on everything that my package offered by taking a nice 9-point buck, a nice 6-point Sika buck, an Axis doe, and a hog. I was also privileged to capture these fair chase hunts on film. Everyone that has seen my videos were envious. I plan on making subsequent trips to your ranch.
Thanks again,
Jeremy Luke

Ashley,
I really enjoyed the trip this weekend. You have an beautiful ranch and do a awesome job with it. I know it gets tedious, as all jobs do, but ya'll are burning memories that last a lifetime into many people, including me (and this is from some guy on a doe hunt that wasn't "lucky".. hehe).
Keep the faith, I hope you are still there when my son is old enough to come on a youth hunt and plant the seed to last him a lifetime.
Speaking of faith, I would like to book the doe hunt on Feb 17 if you will accept singles. I am spreading the word around to see if I can bring some more people.
Regards,
Mike W.

Ms. Ashley
I just wanted to let you & your family know that I thank you so much for letting me come on the exotic hunt before whitetail season.
The West Kerr Ranch may not be heaven, but it shares the same address as Whitetail Heaven; that I have seen in my more than 40 years of hunting.
This is not a canned hunt. I am very impressed with your game management. I wish for you & your family; health, happiness, & success.
God Bless,
Michael Mason

Both Sean and Kellan (and the two accompanying dads) had a fantastic time.
For three years now you have provided an awesome hunting experience for my son that I greatly appreciate. As you know, the exposure you provide for the junior hunters is invaluable for the future of hunting and wildlife conservation.
If everything works out, I plan on bringing my daughter, Vanessa, next year around Christmas time. I'll be in touch in late spring or early summer.
Have a fantastic New Year :)
Sincerely,

Ashley and Kelcie,
I would like to thank you both for the wonderful experience on my October doe hunt. This was my first experience hunting a private ranch and I see no reason to look further. I arrived at the ranch to find the facilities far exceeded any expectation. With all the comforts of home it was hard to believe I was actually on a hunt. Each blind placed within 20 feet of trophy whitetail including the largest 11 point I’ve ever seen, unfortunately I was on a doe hunt. I would’ve never dreamed of viewing so many mature bucks in such a short time, proof that you management program works. I also had the pleasure of hearing the bugle of your 5X6 bull elk on my last evening hunt and seeing the monster in the company or his harem of cows. The ranch has a wonderful mix of whitetail, fallow, axis, sika, sheep, hogs and elk located in prime Texas hill country, everything any hunter could ask.
So again, thank you for the opportunity and I look forward seeing you both on my next experience at the West Kerr Ranch. Maybe I could make a visit to harvest that trophy axis Kelcie and I witnessed. (Houston, TX)
Thanks for doing a very good job on the doe/spike hunt 21,22,23 Oct . Both me (skip) and Rodney from Baytown had a super time. I ate deer steaks tonight from the grill. very good. We will be back. thank you all again.

Barbara, Ashley, & Kelcie,
Well once again, you gals cease to amaze me. Not only was the ranch,
accommodations, and game all in superb order but ya'll put Jason on a great looking Fallow Buck & gave him the opportunity to harvest a Gold Glass exotic trophy. Anyone who has not experienced a hunt on your ranch is just
plain missing out!
Thanks again for a great weekend and be expecting our reservations for
next year.

I wanted to say “Thank You” to the Staff at the West Kerr Ranch !! The hard work, friendliness and management practices being utilized all contributed to a Great Hill Country Hunt !!!
I have been an avid Whitetail hunter for 40 years and have hunted whitetails just about wherever they are located north, south, east and west. Some have been good and some awful !! I must say that my hunt at the West Kerr was exceptional !!! Having hunted the Hill Country back in the mid-1970s with very little success except for getting deer, not trophies, it was very evident that the West Kerr management program was outstanding and working !! The Buck to doe ratio was practically perfect, the quality of trophies exceptional, and the guides some of the best, honest and most fun !!! I saw numerous mature whitetails throughout my hunt !! In addition to the whitetails I saw plenty of game of all species, probably more than most in camp and several were true trophy caliber (Sika, Fallow, Blackbuck, Turkey and Mouflon) !!
The West Kerr is a hunters paradise: accommodations at the ranch are great, opportunities to take the trophy you are seeking, with the addition of very knowledgeable, hard working and friendly guides !!! This was truly an exceptional hunting operation that no true hunter could be disappointed in !!
Ashley I want to personally thank you in helping me to take the best buck I have ever taken in the Hill Country of Texas !!
Kelcie thank you for your professional expertise in taxidermy for the care of my trophy to ensure it was properly cared for and preserved !!
This was my first hunt at the West Kerr (it will not be my last !) it was one of the most fun and enjoyable hunts I have been on. I am already making plans to return !!!!!!!! Thank You West Kerr Ranch Staff !!
Thanks again for a wonderful hunt !!!

Dear Ashley,
Thank you for the kick ass time that we had over the last couple of days at the West Kerr Ranch. We can’t stop talking about our individual experiences at your ranch. You were very patient and were full of instruction for the inexperienced members of our group. We learned a lot about Texas hunting and exotics as well. You put us on the animals that we were after even though some of us couldn’t close the deal. The hunting was hard but rewarding after we all eventually got on the board with kills. Even if we had not gotten anything, it would have been money well spent since your Hill Country Ranch was as beautiful as the animals roaming the ranch and the guides showing us the way. You are truly blessed. We all intend to make subsequent trips to your ranch in search of the elusive game on your property. Thank you for the memorable experience.
Sincerely,

Hey Ashley!
I wanted to thank you again for being such an awesome guide. You are absolutely my favorite hunting guide in the world. I really had a lot of fun! It was very exciting for me, especially since I've only been deer hunting about 4 or 5 times before that. Anyway, take care, and I hope to make it out there again in the future for another hunt!
Thanks again for everything!

Hey Ashley,
I just wanted to tell you, once again, how much I appreciate you guiding me on my trophy whitetail hunt in December! Thanks to you, I harvested a beautiful 10-pointer, had a great time, and, another memorable hunt! Like my previous trophy whitetail hunt, the only "problem" I had was deciding "when" to pull the trigger, and, "which" big buck to take! Based on my deer hunting experiences at the West Kerr, you never know "how big" the next big buck you see is going to be. So, this makes for some tough decisions on when to "pass up," and, when "to shoot!" Believe me, these are the kind of "problems" that all deer hunters would "like to have!" As you know, this was my fourth hunt in barely over a year's time. On my first trophy whitetail hunt, in December '03, after passing up a number of nice bucks, I harvested a big 11-pointer which is one of the best bucks I've taken in over three decades of deer hunting. I came back again in March, on a "Ram Stalk," and, got a fine mouflon ram. In June, I was back again on an "Axis Stalk," and, harvested a great axis buck. Now, I have another "wall-hanger" whitetail to go along with my other trophies. On each of these hunts, the amount of game I saw, and, the quality of the animals, was almost unbelievable! This year's whitetail hunt was no exception. I saw trophy size axis bucks, fallow bucks, aoudad rams, and, blackbuck antelope, from the different stands I hunted. In my opinion, whether your after a trophy whitetail, or, a trophy exotic, and, want to experience some of the finest hunting that the legendary Texas "Hill Country" has to offer, you can't go wrong booking a hunt at the West Kerr Ranch! Ashley, thanks for another great hunt, and, a fine buck! Best Regards, Larry Elam Chattanooga, TN

I wanted to say thanks for allowing mike and I to hunt with you last
weekend. We both had a great time and look forward to a return visit.
Dee and your sister treated us well and were fun to be around. I hope to
get a larger group of friends together to return for another weekend of fun.
Thanks again and I will stay in touch.

Here are some pictures from the successful hunt we had on your ranch.
Thank you for providing a great opportunity for me. It was a very
enjoyable experience. Thank you very much. Hopefully, I will be able to
shoot a deer in Texas someday. It looks like my sister may be coming
to hunt with you next year.
Sincerely,

I've been hunting the West Kerr Ranch since 1996. I can't say enough about the ranch. It has improved so much over the years. It's located in what we call " The Texas Hill Country". It's one of the prettiest ranches you will ever be on. The whitetail and axis deer are exceptional. I have
been fortunate to take both species numerous times. I've always had a great time, whether I killed something or not. Some times I'm a little particular on what I'm looking for. I have been hunting axis deer around the state for about 6 or 7 years now and the best buck I have to date came off the West Kerr 2 years ago. I also took the best whitetail I have ever killed off of the West Kerr. You will not be disappointed in the amount of game you will see and or the quality. I don't know if you have ever
hunted axis deer before, but in my opinion, they are a little tuffer to hunt than the whitetail deer. They seemed to be a little more alert and cautious. Not only are they an outstanding trophy , but they are very good table fare.
Barbara , who is the owner of the ranch, and her girls, who do the guiding, are some of the nicest and friendliest people you will ever meet. The girls, Kelcie and Ashley, do an outstanding job on trying to locate the game you are seeking. They are the two hardest, not to mention the prettiest working guides I have ever had and I think you will agree with me after your hunt. The accommodations at the ranch are unbeatable and the peace and quiet you will experience is unforgettable.
Thanks for the Great Hunting West Kerr ranch

Ashley & Kelcie,
I Just wanted to say that my family, Kirk, Jean, Hannah, had a wonderful time at the ranch. The weather was great, the flowers were still in bloom, & most importantly the trophy axis buck was awesome!! The West Kerr Ranch afforded me the hunt of a lifetime! We look forward to visiting the ranch again soon.
Best Regards,

I have been hunting for the better part of 35 years of my life and have
taken a few trophy whitetail from Wisconsin and Georgia. Many times, I
had heard and dreamed about a Texas hunt, but it wasn't until I started
searching the web that the dream turned into reality.
During my web search of about ten ranches, the West Kerr Ranch kept
coming out heads and shoulders above the rest. After various correspondences
with the West Kerr staff, our five day spring hunt was booked. My brother
and a good buddy who were driving from Wisconsin, and me driving from Atlanta
Georgia, rendezvoused in Kerrville Texas. From there, we drove the 40
to 50 miles to the West Kerr ranch to be greeted and settled in. Our spring
hunt for Aoudad, Axis deer and all the hogs we see was on.
The West Kerr is a 10,000 to 11,000 acre ranch located in the hill
country of Texas, with the most beautiful terrain I didn't know existed in
Texas. Our hunt was everything we had anticipated...and more. The facilities
and accommodations were outstanding, while the staff guided us on our
preferred style of hunting.
Each of us at least saw everything we were hunting. My buddy was able
to bag his trophy Aoudad, which scored gold with 60 inches of horn, and a
trophy Axis buck that scored silver. My hunt began with a early first
morning hog kill, and after stalking and passing up 3 or 4 nice Axis
bucks, bagged a gold Axis trophy. Because I wanted a full cape to be tanned
into a rug, I successfully stalked and bagged a beautiful axis doe on the last
day of the hunt. I did get to see a herd of about 15 Aoudad, but was not
able to get a shot. My brother shot at and missed his Aoudad...to bad.
For those whitetail hunters, the only aggravating part of the hunt was
having to maneuver around all the trophy velvet whitetail bucks while
stalking for the Aoudad and Axis.
This was my first Texas hunt, but will not be my last.
Thank You West Kerr Ranch staff.
Sincerely,
Jeff Anderson

I have been an avid deer hunter for 32-years. I have hunting leases in my home state of Tennessee, as well as, the neighboring state of Georgia. Over the years, and, in addition to hunting here at home, I have been on a number of whitetail hunts to other states. Most of these hunts took place at "commercial" hunting operations, which, for various reasons, did not live up to my expectations, or, "their" advertisements. Based on these past "experiences," I must admit to being apprehensive when I booked my December (2003) trophy whitetail hunt at the West Kerr, especially since my hunt was the last one for the season. After talking to the hunters whose names Ashley had sent me for reference, and, countless "reviews" of the trophy whitetail pictures on the website, hunting at the West Kerr seemed "to good to be true!" Nevertheless, I booked the trophy package, and, even added an extra day to make a 4-day hunt.
I can say, without any reservation, my hunt at the West Kerr was the best whitetail hunt that I have ever been on! The beautiful 11-point buck I harvested, on the last morning of my hunt, is one of the best bucks I've taken in three decades of deer hunting! In 4-days, I saw a total of 27 different bucks, 12 of which had 8, or, more, points! Incredible! Judging by the stands I hunted, your superb management practices have produced an exceptional buck-to-doe ratio! During my hunt, I averaged seeing just 3, or, 4 does a day! In addition to the whitetails, I saw a number of axis deer, including several bucks. The West Kerr Ranch is truly a deer hunter's paradise! Kelcie, I want to take this opportunity to thank you, once again, for a great hunt! Your guidance made it all come together, with the end result being a beautiful trophy buck for which I will be forever grateful! I am already looking forward to this year's hunt! Please feel free to use my name as a reference. It will be my pleasure to tell others about the great hunting at the West Kerr Ranch!
Best Wishes,

Thanks for Another Great Hunt, And, A Beautiful Trophy!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear West Kerr Ranch,
This is a thank you from the hunting group from Cocoa, Florida of
Larry, Larry, Jr., Ricky and Eddie. We extend our gratitude to you and your
staff at West Kerr Ranch for a fantastic time.
You certainly held true to your word about having a successful hunt.
I believe you told us that if we didn't have 100% success on our hunt,
then we must have either been asleep or we just couldn't shoot.
We contribute our success to the great staff at the West Kerr Ranch.
We brought home twelve whitetail deer, four of which are real nice
trophies, two Sika's and two beautiful Rio Grande turkeys. We could not have
asked for a more successful hunt or any greater staff.
We are now in the middle of planning to get together again in 2005.
This time we have a few more people interested in coming along. After
showing our pictures and videos of our hunt at the West Kerr Ranch, the other
guys were ready to leave right away. They were amazed at the variety of
wild life and the beauty of the countryside.
Our hunt in November 2003 was everything we hoped it would be and
more. The accommodations were excellent, the facilities were great and the
home cooked meals were outstanding. A special thanks goes out to Hilda
for the great meals. My son, Larry, Jr. especially thanks you for all the
extra hash browns. I promise next time I'll have him bring along some
extra potatoes.
Ashley, we would especially like to thank you for helping our good
friend Eddie in getting around. You certainly made his hunt special! The
only complaint we have is that you let him get the FIRST buck as well as
the BIGGEST buck of our group. We still have not heard the end of it!
He sure holds the biggest bragging rights!
We are looking forward to booking another hunt at West Kerr Ranch.
It would be our pleasure to tell others about our fantastic hunt at The
West Kerr Ranch located in the foothills of Texas. Please feel free to
use our names as a reference.
We wish ya'll the best and hope to see you soon!!
Sincerely,
Larry Brock, Eddie Ballew,
Larry Brock Jr. and Ricky Mueller (Florida)

Kelcie,
As busy as we have been here at work I feel compelled to take the time to write you this note of gratitude. I just received my whitetail trophy that you mounted, and I must tell you that it is awesome. You have done an outstanding job of preserving the integrity of what the animal looked like the day I bagged him. He is quite an addition to my trophy room.
I am looking forward to my next trip to the West Kerr not only for the opportunity at another trophy, but the complete package of the before, during, and after of the hunt. Please send my regards to your family.
Sincerely,
Eddie Bueno

Gals,
As always, our 4th year to hunt the West Kerr Ranch was a spectacular experience. Ashley, Kelcie, Michelle, and Barbara always make us feel like their ranch is "our ranch". Jason our son who is always the main hunter, has limited mobility. But with very little outside assistance, the blinds and camp facilities are very accessible for him. I encourage everyone, especially anyone with limited mobility's, to contact the West Kerr Ranch for your next hunt. You WILL NOT be disappointed.
Thanks again for a wonderful experience!

Thanks again!

Ashley:
Sean and I had a great time on the doe hunt a couple of weeks ago
(although we didn't bring home some carne). I appreciated your
hospitality, your honesty and your words of encouragement for my son.
You have a quality management operation on a prime piece of property.
THANKS,

Not knowing what to expect when this hunt was booked, I can honestly say that I was pleasantly surprised. The West Kerr Ranch has some of the finest and most unique hunting country that I have ever seen. We were provided an extremely courteous and knowledgeable staff, top quality living quarters with all of the comforts of home. Throw in several different species of game and you have the makings of an unforgettable hunt. A hunt on this ranch is most definitely a “Fair Chase” hunt, with the animals having plenty of cover to give you the slip. My particular hunt was a very challenging Aoudad Stalk Hunt, which required a lot of walking, tracking, glassing, and general hard work. With a little skill and a lot of luck, I have an awesome Ram to show for it. We will definitely be back.
Kelcie…Thanks for everything.
